Hola amigos and I welcome you to the “Juan Cruz“ Boy Scout Page. Who is “Juan Cruz”?
I grew up in the town of Ponce, Puerto Rico. I joined Scouting in 1953 and was a member of Tropa 3 De Ponce. My name is Juan Cruz Garcia and my friends and fellow scouts used to call me “Juan Cruz”. I held many positions in the troop and reached Life Scout. In 1960, I was elected to the Order of the Arrow. In 1961, I became a Brotherhood member.
I was very active in Scouting and collecting. Unfortunately, my Scouting adventure and collecting days were cut short when, in 1962, I was drafted in the United States Army. I served 2 tours in Vietnam and after 22 years of constant moving, I retired. The family decided to stay in the Burlington County area and we settled in Mt. Holly (Westampton). A few years before retiring from the US Army, I was a member of Burlington County Council and Hunnikick Lodge 76. For many years, I was the lodge Ceremonial Advisor. In 1977, the lodge tapped me out for the Vigil Honor.
Just recently, I retired again from the State of New Jersey. After two retirements, now is the time to enjoy my golden years by golfing, and of course, collecting. While my days of overnight camping and hiking are almost over, do not be surprised to see me at some Scouting functions such as the Conclave, Jamboree, trading seminars, etc.
Well, Amigos, now you know about me and my collection. I hope the collection provides you with information and guidance. Be well.
